Crucial BX300 datasheet
Ever wonder why your phone works as soon as you push a button, yet your computer takes forever? The reason is simple: Your phone runs on flash memory technology, while your computer runs on an outdated hard drive. It's possible – in fact, it's easy – to get the same near-instant speed you expect from your phone out of your computer. Upgrading to the Crucial BX300 SSD is perhaps the easiest way to get all the speed of a new computer without the price. When we say it's easy, here's what we mean.
Easy speed
Fix your slow computer and feel good about using it again! Load apps and save files immediately with the Crucial BX300, which accesses data over 300% faster than a hard drive.1 That's how you get the immediate responsiveness you expect. Changing your storage drive is the proven way to speed up startup times – making your computer start almost as soon as you press the power button and improving almost every aspect of computer performance.
Easy efficiency
Run your computer cooler, quieter, and faster with 45x the energy efficiency of a typical hard drive – and extend your laptop's battery life.2 Reducing system temperatures also helps lengthen the life of your computer and the components within it, which is an inherent advantage of SSD technology. Since SSDs don't use small mechanical parts that are prone to failure like you'll find in hard drives, they're an easy way to improve the health and efficiency
of your computer.
Easy installation
Opening your computer and updating your storage drive can seem complicated and intimidating if you've never done it before, but our straightforward, easy-to-follow instructions and videos make it so anyone can install an SSD! Millions of people worldwide have chosen a Crucial SSD – it really is easy.
Easy decision: Replace your hard drive
Booting up, loading things, and transferring and saving files aren't complicated actions, but a slow and outdated hard drive makes them take forever. SSDs use new flash storage technology to make your computer work almost instantly. You don't need a new computer – just the Crucial BX300 SSD.
Micron® quality – a higher level of reliability.
As a brand of Micron, one of the largest flash storage manufacturers in the world, the Crucial BX300 is backed by the same quality and innovation that has produced some of the world's most advanced memory and storage technologies. Protect your photos, videos, and irreplaceable files from catastrophic hard drive crashes by storing them on inherently more durable Micron® 3D MLC NAND. With extensive prerelease validation testing and hundreds of SSD qualification tests, the Crucial BX300 has been thoroughly tried, tested, and proven. You'll notice the difference.

Install was easy, and just used a free cloner on App Store. I played around with the settings, format, and other small stuff but through some trial and error I got it up and running. MacBook Pro is noticeably faster and making use of the upgraded 16gb of ram.

Laptop: Dell i5551-1668blk. Replacing 500Gb hard drive with BX300 240 Gb SSD.
- Install per http://www.crucial.com/ssd-install did not work. Acronis True Image 2015 was downloaded and installed, and the Clone Disk option was chosen, but the procedure requires a restart and then failed upon restart "Starting Acronis UEFI loader...failed to find". Tried to change boot options (UEFI Secure On to Off); no help. Tried to initialize the SSD using "Add Disk" option in Acronis; no help.
One of the options was to create an Acronis Bootable Media on DVD, which also allows running the Clone Disk option without needing to restart, since it runs from the DVD. To boot the DVD, need to press F12 right after power-on before the reboot procedure begins. But this method also failed and created log files. Viewing the logs showed MFT bitmap is corrupted. Chkdsk c:/r did not help.
Finally: With the SSD connected via SATA-USB cable, right-click on Windows icon and select Disk Management. Setup Disk 1 (the SSD) with full-size partition, as if it's an extra drive via USB. Then, reboot from the Acronis Bootable media DVD and run Clone Disk again. This worked to clone the SSD.
Now...with the SSD installed in place of the HDD, the laptop was failing to boot. The fix for this was to turn off Secure boot. Apparently when Secure boot is on, the laptop knows the original HDD was removed. It's possible there's another fix
The drive works great now. I spent several hours trying to follow the install instructions to clone the existing hard drive. Please update the instructions.

Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
I swapped out my new solid-state drive in only about 30 minutes. The instructions online and the software they make available for free made it so easy. Once I booted up my machine with the new Drive, it got to the login screen within about 5 Seconds! I love the speed of this new drive! I will never go back to a traditional hard drive again.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Bought the BX-300 SSD to replace an old hard drive and I only wish I had done it earlier. Amazing speed. And Crucial is the only place I would ever go for a great experience.

Put this Drive into 2 different computers and was unable to load Windows on it
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
I don't know much about computers and was worried about cloning my drive, but the Arconis software and
crucial guide made it easy.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Picked this up for my old Dell Studio desktop as my hard drive always seemed to be a limiting factor in terms of performance. If this didn't help, I figured I would be purchasing a new computer. Well, I think I'll be putting off that purchase for at least a little while. The new BX300 has significantly improved my system's performance. Boot time has been significantly reduced. Heavier applications load noticeably quicker. I purchased the SSD install kit with the BX300, which had what I needed for a simple install and a quick migration of data. For a first time SSD installer, the process was simple and frustration free. Now, on to the laptop.

Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Other than figuring out how my old hard drive came out (which was still fairly easy), the whole process of switching my laptop to a SSD was very easy. Crucial's instructions were easy to follow. The transfer of data from old hard drive to new was flawless. I would recommend this to anyone.
Once you remove the screws that hold the hard drive bracket in place, just slide it back out of the terminal/connection.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Downloaded cloning software as instructed by brochure and it would not clone my drive.
Something about not having proper authorization.
Cloned with software I already had and all appears to be ok.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
I've only had this device working in my computer for a couple of days, so the verdict is still out, but the system now boots much faster than with the old mechanical drive. The advertised cloning procedure did not work (all the options for the destination drive were grayed out, that is, not selectable). After many failed attempts, much internet searching and frustration (I had almost given up), I finally succeeded in backing up my old drive and restoring it to the new drive.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Installed the 240GB SSD a week ago and it works as expected. The price and performance are both excellent.
Comments about Crucial BX300 240GB SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD:
Stretching out the usable life of a Lenovo ThinkPad x140e. Easy data transfer with the included software and the SSD fit.
